Twisted Stone, LLC is the partnership between Sean Platt and Johnny Truant from Sterling & Stone and Derek Frederickson and Marina Abramyan from Twisted Media.
The journey began when Derek read and became entranced with the Invasion series…and wondered why such an amazing story wasn’t on the big (or little) screen! After meeting Sean and Johnny, everyone realized the potential of working together to bring these stories to a motion picture realm, and also the many other worlds that Sean and Johnny have created.
This is just the start…
Twisted Stone, LLC develops content for motion picture productions…it’s the in-between from story to screen.

Meet the team
Sean Platt
Storyteller and CEO of Sterling & Stone Story Studio
Sean is the founder of Sterling & Stone and loves that he not only gets paid to make up stories and come up with crazy ideas, but that he gets to do so with his best friends.
In 2011, Sean and Dave co-wrote Yesterday’s Gone at Collective Inkwell and changed serial fiction forever. Since then he and Dave have published the series Available Darkness, WhiteSpace, ForNevermore, and Karma Police, the standalone novels Crash and 12, the short story collection Dark Crossings, and the traditionally published Z2134 series and Monstrous (with 47North).
In 2013, Sean and Johnny founded Realm & Sands with their debut novel, Unicorn Western, then immediately followed that with their sci-fi “future history” serial, The Beam. Since then they have written the series Robot Proletariat, Cursed, The Dream Engine, Invasion, and Dead City, along with the standalone novels, Namaste, Axis of Aaron, and Devil May Care.
Sean and Johnny have also co-authored the bestselling non-fiction titles Write. Publish. Repeat., Fiction Unboxed, and Iterate & Optimize (with a bit of help from Dave) for their Smarter Artist imprint.
He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife Cindy and their two children, Ethan and Haley.
Johnny B. Truant
Storyteller and COO of Sterling & Stone Story Studio
Johnny B. Truant is the bestselling author of the Invasion series, the political sci-fi thriller The Beam, Fat Vampire, Devil May Care, Unicorn Western, and many more fiction titles in addition to the nonfiction bestseller Write. Publish. Repeat.
He is also co-owner of the Sterling & Stone Story Studio, and along with partners Sean Platt and David W. Wright hosts the weekly Story Studio Podcast, openly sharing the company’s journey as they develop a Pixar-style studio of nearly twenty in-house writers, creating IP for books, audio, and both small and large screen.
Johnny and his family are thrilled to finally call Austin, Texas their home after far too many years of planning to move and complaining about life in northern Ohio. The weather and rock climbing are both so much better here.
Derek Frederickson

Derek started Twisted Media in 1998 with the goal of putting together a creative collective capable of working at the highest levels of production. Almost 20 years later, here we are! With top notch productions under our belt, we’re ready for any challenge.
Marina Abramyan
Producer
Marina started her career in TV and film in 2007 by working on several feature films in the art department. She has art directed and production designed several independent films, and also worked as producer’s assistant and production manager for several production companies. In 2014, Marina joined Scorpion (CBS) as the graphics and visual effects coordinator, which led to her current position with Twisted Media as visual effects producer.
